state51 started life in 1991 and has a long history of innovation in music and technology.

We have developed a platform to manage music, metadata, rights and digital assets. Working with successful indie labels and distributors this software has delivered millions of tracks to hundreds of music services around the world.

We have been delivering content to the iTunes store since 2003 - one of the first European companies to do so. We have routes to all the other major music services and many smaller ones with global coverage.

We are on a mission to provide tools which enable everyone to enjoy the same scale and reach in the marketplace as the largest players. We are creating an API to open our services to developers.

We use cutting edge open source tools and frameworks, which we take an active part in the development of. We currently employ a member of the catalyst "core team". Another of these projects is our SAN which currently stores over 100TB of managed assets.

We are based in east London and part of a group of companies all working with music.

state51 is a founder partner in Consolidated Independent Ltd, Playlouder MSP and the state51 conspiracy which works with record labels and artists to help them sell music.
